The first two tank commanders who carried out the pilot into the armor and successfully passed it, petitioned the High Court on Thursday against Defense Minister Naftali Bennett and Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, demanding that they recruit women as combat armor and allow them to make reserve as tankist.

Their petition was joined by their commander, Afik Shema, who stated that the two had performed all the training as required. According to the petitioners, "the IDF of 2020 discriminates against women - just because they are women." They also claimed that the pilot they participated had passed successfully. The IDF said that the Chief of Staff Kochavi has not yet decided on the tankist issue.
