At the age of two, Ruby Mugleston had a serious illness that attacked her body. Doctors initially feared it was arthritis, but no treatment was successful and the tests revealed what the toddler was sick with as her condition rapidly deteriorated.

Ruby was transported to Bristol Hospital, which specialized in the treatment of pediatric illness. Ruby's condition was deteriorating and she was undergoing intensive care. Meanwhile, hospital doctors conducted additional tests and found that Ruby had a large cell lymphoma.

The medical team, in light of the girl's predicament, advised Ruby's parents to bring her older brother and sister so that they could part with her because the chances of surviving the aggressive treatment planned for her at the hospital were low. Ruby's father, Paul, said: "The doctors called us and advised us to take Ruby's brothers to the ward to say goodbye to her. Her pulse was high she didn't eat anything."

But it turns out that miracles are happening, and not just on Chanukah.

The hospital began to treat Ruby with very acute chemotherapy, which managed to save the girl. After a week, she began to recover, and was transferred to the oncology department of the hospital.

"We went a long way until Robbie recovered, but we finally had a chance and we were full of hope. I was unable to visit Ruby for some time because I got the flu and the doctors forbade any patient from getting close to her," Ruby's father said.

Nicola, Ruby's mother, said: "Ruby is our private miracle. At one point we thought we would lose the girl but she is here with us and she is our miracle."
