The United States has recorded 1,783 deaths from the new coronavirus in 24 hours, according to a count at 8:30 p.m. local Thursday at Johns Hopkins University. This daily toll, lower than that of the previous day (+1,973 dead), brings to 16,478 the total number of deaths recorded in the United States, the country most bereaved in the world by the pandemic after Italy.
