France: Coronavirus: record of more than 2,100 deaths in the United States in 24 hours

The United States has become the first country in the world to exceed 2,000 deaths from the new coronavirus in one day, with 2,108 additional deaths recorded in 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University count at 8:30 p.m. local Friday.

The total number of deaths recorded in the United States is 18,586, which is very close to the most bereaved country, Italy, which has 18,849 deaths, but with a population five times smaller. America is also approaching half a million officially declared cases of the disease (+35,000 cases recorded in 24 hours).
