France, over 20,000 dead

France has exceeded 20,000 deaths in the last 24 hours, reaching 20,265 deaths among hospitals, rest homes and institutions for the disabled. Health Director General Jerome Salomon announced this. (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - PARIS, APRIL 20 - In the last 24 hours France has exceeded 20,000 deaths, reaching the number of 20,265 deaths among hospitals, retirement homes and institutions for the disabled. Loha announced the director general of Health, JeromeSalomon. France "crosses a symbolic and painful threshold", said Salomon announcing the overcoming of 20,000 victims.
   "The coronavirus epidemic - he added - killed more of the seasonal epidemics and the heat wave of 2003 that caused 19,500 deaths". In the past 24 hours, there have been 547 deaths between hospitals and rest homes. The positive trend of the lowest number of patients undergoing resuscitation (5,683) continued for the 12th consecutive day and overall hospitalized patients decreased for the 3rd day (30,584).
