According to the latest assessment from the Directorate General of Health, published this Monday evening, 5,863 patients are currently in intensive care.

"We are not out of the health crisis", recalled Sunday Edouard Philippe. Jérôme Salomon's daily report serves as a reminder. The director general of health presented this Monday evening the latest assessment of the coronavirus epidemic.

Authorities in the past 24 hours have announced the death of an additional 547 people in the country.

In total, and since the start of the epidemic, 20,265 people have died, including 12,513 in hospitals and 7,752 in social and medico-social establishments.

First drop in the number of patients in Italy

With regard to resuscitation services, 5,863 seriously ill patients are currently being treated in French hospitals. 208 new patients have been treated there since Sunday evening.

A total of 30,584 patients remain hospitalized in the country to date due to a covid-19 infection, ie 26 patients registered less in the last 24 hours.

Among our neighbors, the number of Covid-19 patients in Italy rose to 108,237 on Monday, 20 less than the day before. 449 deaths were recorded in the United Kingdom in 24 hours, the lowest toll in two weeks. This decline is however to be nuanced since the daily figures of the British government often mark declines after the weekend due to delays in the counts. Since the start of the epidemic, 16,509 people have died from Covid-19 disease in hospitals across the Channel and 124,743 have been infected (+4,676), the ministry said on Monday.
