The “Supreme Leader” is back. Kim Jong-un made his first public appearance on May 1 after twenty days of absence, twisting the neck to rumors which affirmed at worst, but left the specialists on their guard. Tucked into a dark Mao collar jacket, the thirty-something leader inaugurated a fertilizer factory in Sunchon, north of the capital, Pyongyang, with great fanfare, photos released by the official KCNA agency show.

All smiles, the heir to the only Communist dynasty in exercise cut a large red ribbon "under the thunderous cheers" to the glory of the "Supreme Leader", before "warmly" greet the audience by praising the Juche, the ideology of self-sufficiency which claims the most opaque regime on the planet. Accompanied by his sister Kim Yo-jong, and Prime Minister Park Jae-ryong, the 36-year-old leader conducted this routine ceremony without any sign of physical weakness, according to this report, the date of which is difficult to verify.
