Coronavirus in France: 351 new deaths recorded, 27,425 deaths in total

The Directorate General of Health also reports that 2,299 patients are still being treated in the intensive care units.

As we enter deconfinement, the new life of the French is organized. According to government announcements, schoolchildren return to school, businesses open their doors. And summer vacations can be organized. The epidemic, however, is not over.

This Thursday evening, the Directorate General of Health presented its daily report. 351 new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. Since the start of the epidemic, 27,425 people have died from Covid-19, according to figures from Santé Publique France.

Of this total, 17,224 patients died in hospitals and 10,201 others died in medico-social centers, including nursing homes.

2,299 intensive care patients

As of May 14, 2,299 patients remain hospitalized in serious condition, which requires admission to the intensive care unit. Or 52 new patients in the last 24 hours.

The patient balance, which takes account of discharges from these specialized services, continues its decline observed for several weeks, with 129 fewer patients.

Resuscitation patients constitute only a minority share of hospitalizations. 20,463 covid-19 patients are still being treated in French hospitals. 542 new hospitalizations have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Since the start of the epidemic, 97,844 people with Covid-19 have been treated in hospitals. 59,605 came out cured.
