2132 patients are still hospitalized in intensive care this Saturday, according to the latest assessment from the Directorate General of Health.

In this first unconfined weekend, the death toll of the Covid-19 continues to increase. The Directorate General of Health (DGS) reported this Saturday of 96 new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

A total of 27,625 people have died from the coronavirus in the country since the start of the epidemic. In detail, the DGS counts 17,412 deaths in hospitals and 10,213 in medico-social establishments, in particular in nursing homes.

Balance still negative in intensive care

The decline in the number of patients in intensive care units that started several weeks ago continues. If 46 new serious cases were admitted, the balance remains negative with 71 fewer patients this Sunday, according to the DGS. There are still 2,132 patients still hospitalized in these services reserved for the most serious cases.

More generally, 19,432 people are still being treated in hospital after being infected with SARS-CoV-2. In the past 24 hours, 350 new admissions have been recorded. "Since the start of the epidemic, 98,449 people have been hospitalized, including nearly 17,500 in intensive care and 61,066 people have returned to their homes," adds the Directorate General of Health.

She ensures that on Friday, SOS doctors performed 280 interventions for suspected COVID-19, or 5% of its total activity. "The emergency services noted 645 passages for this same reason, or 2% of total activity," said the DGS.

To date, the epidemic affects 188 countries, for 4.57 million people infected. Among them, 308,317 died and 1.65 million people recovered from Covid-19.
