President Donald Trump spoke from the White House about the situation of the pandemic in the United States and began highlighting the mourning in the country saying that all efforts to get ahead are in honor of the victims of the coronavirus. Trump also said the vaccines would arrive "sooner than anyone would have thought possible" but without specifying a date. Trump repeated some phrases he has used before, such as calling the new coronavirus “Chinese virus”, insisting that the US reduced mortality “enormously” and exaggerating efforts to do “millions” of tests on the population. Unlike previous messages, on this occasion Trump stressed the importance of wearing masks, "they like it or not"; and he insisted to the young people that they "be smart" about it. "It will get worse before it gets better," Trump said in his message saying that "it is not something he likes to say."
