An argument over the autopsy of the body of the late Ariel Tzafrir, who died last Friday after collapsing during a nature party, caused his funeral to be postponed to an unknown date.

After Tzafrir's death was determined at Soroka Hospital, the Lachish police asked the family to sign an autopsy form of the body in order to find out the reasons that led to his death.

The family objected and was told that if he did not sign there would be a lengthy procedure that could take several days and might delay the funeral.

The head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, checked for the family members and discovered that the Lachish police had submitted a request to the court for the autopsy on one side.

The court did not agree but sought to hold the hearing in the presence of both parties.

At the hearing, which lasted a long time and ended at 3:00 a.m., the court ordered the police to detain the body until 11 a.m. after external examinations at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

However, police representatives were told that if they found another suspect they could make another request, which is what they did this morning, so for now, the body is still in Abu Kabir, until the answer comes from the court regarding the further hearing.
