An index developed at Oxford University that examines metrics of government action against the virus shows that Israel is behind Sweden - despite the surge in the number of patients
Israel at the top of the contagion table and at the bottom of the government response table: A special index developed by Oxford University shows that as of early September, Israel is one of the last countries in the Western world in government response to the corona virus.
The index is based on nine main parameters of government response including closure restrictions, local closure, school closures, disabling public transportation and more.
The weighted score that Israel received for the sixth date in September is 34.6, less than Sweden, one of the countries that avoided restrictions as much as possible due to the virus, which received the score 37.04.

France, too, which is considered a green country, where the morbidity rate is rising but not sharply, the score obtained is almost 51, this is probably due to the many restrictions on educational institutions and public transport services in the country.
The United States, the country with the largest coronavirus deaths in the world, received a score of 72.2.
Brazil, too, where millions of the country's citizens were infected with the disease, received a score of 77.7.
The country with the highest score in the Western world is Chile, which stands at a score of over 88.
It should be noted that despite the large database and the quality research team, the scores given do not necessarily reflect the quality of the steps taken by the various governments and so it happens that countries with a dysfunctional health system in large parts of the country, such as Iraq and Libya, score higher than Western countries. Limited but highly effective like the UK, Canada and France.
