Wolfratshausen -
A 55-year-old Wolfratshauser with a deceptively real-looking
toy gun
triggered a
large-scale police alarm
on Friday afternoon
.
Around 4 p.m., a passer-by had observed how the man at the
old raft
landing had pulled
a
pistol
from his waistband
while urinating
and placed it next to him.
When the
witness
spoke to the 55-year-old about it, “he said, with a suggestive undertone:
'You haven't seen anything!
“Reported the police.
Then the man disappeared.
Wolfratshausen: Man with a weapon observed by witnesses - major alarm triggered
The witness immediately called the police.
As part of the quickly initiated
search
with several
patrol
crews, the officers found the
suspect
about 30 minutes later asleep and
heavily drunk
in his caravan.
The 55-year-old was
arrested without resistance
.
The pistol was still in his waistband.
"It turned out that the deceptively real-looking weapon was a
non-functional airsoft weapon,
" said the Wolfratshausen police.
It is forbidden to carry toy weapons - Wolfratshauser must expect a report
The 55-year-old is now awaiting charges of
disturbing the public peace
through the
threat of criminal offenses
and of violating the
ban on carrying fake weapons
.
In this context, the police warn against carrying so-called prima facie or toy weapons in
public spaces
.
Apart from the legal
prohibition
on having such pistols with you, the deceptively real-looking weapons have an
intimidating
effect on other people
and - as in this case - can ultimately even lead to a
police operation
.
If the officers then attack with real weapons, "the supposed fun can quickly turn into bitter seriousness," says the press release.
