The founder of the beverage delivery service in a bottle has benefited significantly from the sale of the start-up to the Oetker Group.

The founder Dieter Büchl (45), who moved to the supervisory board in 2018, is to receive up to 100 million euros.

CEO Stephen Weich (37) and the three other board members receive roughly the same amount.

The manager magazin found out about this from inside circles.

The exact amount depends on how successful the message in a bottle will be in the future.

The Oetker Group announced at the beginning of November that it would take over the beverage delivery service.

The family company plans to pay a total of up to one billion euros for this.

According to insiders, a message in a bottle expects sales of around 300 million euros for 2020, with high losses.

The beverage service burns more than two million euros a month.
