A snorkeling accident occurred in Tseung Kwan O.
At about 11 pm on Thursday (19th), a man was reported to be drowning in Damiaowan near Environmental Avenue. His wife hurriedly called the police while his companion rescued the victim. Unfortunately, he was dying and was taken by ambulance. After going to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for rescue, he died.
It is understood that the deceased’s surname is Liao (37 years old) and was a landfill engineer. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a diving suit and was accompanied by his wife and friends. A group of 3 people dived to catch fish. However, after his wife and friends came ashore, he was not seen for a long time. Soon, he called the police for help, but soon he was found and rescued.
The police said that the victim suspected that he was drowning during snorkeling, and an autopsy will be conducted later to determine the cause of death.
