Snorkeling tragedy occurred in Tseung Kwan O.
At about 11pm on Thursday (19th), a man was drowned in Damiaowan near Environmental Avenue. His wife hurriedly called the police, and his companion rescued the victim. Unfortunately, he was dying and was taken by ambulance to Tseung Kwan O. After being rescued by the hospital, he died.
It is understood that the deceased was named Liao (37 years old) and was a landfill engineer. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a diving suit, and he was snorkeling with his wife and friends.
The police said that the victim suspected that he was drowning during snorkeling, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
This is the fourth fatal accident involving snorkeling or diving in less than two months.
