FDA Issues Emergency Use for Pfizer's Covid-19 Vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved emergency use for the covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized this Friday the emergency use in the United States for the vaccine against covid-19 from Pfizer and BioNTech.

A Pfizer spokesperson confirmed to CNN on Friday that the emergency use authorization had been granted, following the recommendation of the FDA's Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Related Biologicals.

Precisely this Thursday, said panel voted to recommend that the agency grant the emergency use authorization to the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine.

Seventeen members voted in favor, four against and one abstained.

Hours earlier on Friday, White House Secretary General Mark Meadows told FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn that he should grant emergency use authorization for the vaccine by the end of Friday i that Otherwise, he must resign.
