"The fact that R. came to a pilot's course surprised me, even though he has been in the squadron since childhood. I took him with me to fly light aircraft, on a booster," laughs Lt. Col. (Res.) S., originally a fighter pilot and now a flight school instructor, alongside work As a pilot in Arkia, his son, cadet R., will complete the prestigious course on Wednesday and become an Apache pilot. 

R. says that this is his dream from a young age, but emphasizes that until the last minute he did not believe that he would be able to overcome the many obstacles.

"It's a dream to finish, a dream I did not really believe would come," he admits.

"I follow in my father's footsteps without a doubt. While all my friends tried to explain to their parents the world of the Air Force in the course, I had a real friend, who consulted and advised me in every situation," says R.

S., for his part, makes it clear that he is very proud of his son: "He goes his own way. I admire him because I know he is much more talented than me. It is a pleasure to see how this generation is fine, especially when it comes to your son."

The graduation ceremony of Flight 181 will be held at the Hatzerim base.

39 trainees, including two girls, will receive the wings of the flight.

The ceremony will be attended by the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, and Corps Commander Amikam Nurkin.
