Even for the experienced bird rescuer Gerhard Wendl, this was an extraordinary mission: A pair of crows have nested on a crane and looked after their young there. "That was definitely at a height of 30 or 35 meters," reports Wendl.

Even for the experienced bird rescuer Gerhard Wendl, this was an extraordinary mission: A pair of crows have nested on a crane and looked after their young there.

"That was definitely at a height of 30 or 35 meters," reports Wendl.

Germering - The Groebenzeller had been informed by neighbors that a young bird family had made themselves comfortable on a construction site on Eisenbahnstrasse in Germering.

“And that despite the fact that the crane was swung back and forth the whole time.

That didn't bother them at all, ”says Vogel expert Wendl.

But then the crane should be dismantled.

Wendl successfully raised the alarm with the responsible authorities about the Federal Species Protection Act.

So the crane stopped a day longer than planned and firefighters were able to recover the nest.

“I was in contact with them all the time via cell phone and instructed them what to do,” says Wendl. In fact, there were two young birds in the nest. They are now coming to Wendl's rescue station at Olchinger See and are properly nursed up there. at all
