A fire broke out at a mobile sampling station for new crown pneumonia on Sha Tsui Road in Tsuen Wan. A batch of materials were burned and scattered on the ground.

After investigation by the fire department, it is believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious.

It is understood that personnel found a combustion-supporting agent at the scene, which caused the medical supplies to catch fire.

Today (28th) morning, a police officer was stationed at the scene. Affected by the fire, the mobile testing station was temporarily suspended in the morning and will be reopened at 2 pm. Citizens in need can go to the Wai Tsuen Stadium.

It was seen on the scene that the burnt materials included medical gloves, disinfectant solutions, tents, etc. The walls of the adjacent stadium stands and toilets were severely blackened, and the glass fences of some stands were full, and some plastic stools were melted and deformed in the morning. The police were present to investigate.

The private laboratory Golden Mile Inspection (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is responsible for the inspection services of this testing station. "Hong Kong 01" has inquired with Golden Mile and the Department of Health about the incident, and a response is pending.

The mobile sampling station involved provides testing services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The site is surrounded by iron horses during non-service hours and no closed-circuit television is installed.

The incident occurred at 2 o'clock in the morning today. Several tents and a batch of anti-epidemic materials placed in the open space of the stadium suddenly caught fire. The firefighter received the report and dragged the throat to put out the fire.

After the incident, about 20 meters by 10 meters in area was burned down. A batch of gloves, disinfectant and tents and other materials were put to the torch. After firefighting investigation, it was believed that the cause of the fire was suspicious; the police classified the case as "arson".

Fortunately, no casualties occurred during the fire.
