Mexico holds the largest elections in its history under heavy political violence, with a total of 96 candidates and politicians assassinated in the last nine months.
During the election day this Sunday, there were "focused events" of violence, according to the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, Rosa Icela Rodríguez.
