The US authorities announced today that 14 new bodies have been recovered from the site of the collapsed building in the US state of Florida, bringing the death toll to 78.
And the media quoted Miami County Mayor Daniela Levine Cava as saying, "Search teams working on the site of the collapsed apartment building have found 14 other bodies," noting that the fate of 62 people "remains unknown."
This came two days after the search teams announced that there was no longer any hope of finding anyone alive.
It is noteworthy that the collapse of the apartment building occurred on the morning of Thursday, June 24, in Surfside, near Miami, and was undergoing repairs after major structural damage was found.
