Spotify loses another big-name artist.
Joni Mitchell released a statement on her website saying she is having all of her music removed from the streaming service.
In the short text she explains her solidarity with Neil Young as well as research and medicine.
Young previously announced the move because Spotify also offers the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.
In it, the former mixed martial arts fighter spreads false information about corona and vaccinations.
Joni Mitchell writes in her statement: "Responsible people spread lies that cost lives".
Mitchell and Young are both Canadian and have been friends since the late 1960s.
They stood together on stage and wrote songs about each other.
In mid-January, more than 270 doctors and researchers had already asked Spotify not to continue broadcasting "The Joe Rogan Experience".
Rogan has repeatedly spread false information and undermined trust in medicine during the pandemic.
His podcast reaches up to eleven million people.
