Immediately after the final whistle of the 83:95 victory tonight (Tuesday) in Athens over Panathinaikos, Maccabi Tel Aviv players and club members heard about the deadly attack in which several people were killed in Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan.

"We heard at the end of the game about the terrible attack and it obscures us from the joy of the important victory we made here," said Avi Even.

"These are crazy days in our country. My condolences to the families and best wishes for the recovery of the wounded."

"In a very sharp transition," the coach referred to a result that brings his team so close to one victory from qualifying for the Euroleague quarterfinals.

"We made an important victory in a difficult place, a victory that brings us closer to the quarterfinals. Not our good game, but a team game, and it was important to us that we can win outside probably in such a difficult place. Now the face is forward to Thursday."
