The big day crowd has returned to Le Mans.

After two years of disruption linked to Covid-19, between 230,000 and 250,000 spectators are expected for the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which started this Saturday at 4 p.m. (to be followed live commented on our site).

Driven by Sebastian Buemi, it is the Toyota number 8 which opens the track in front of its little sister (N.7) after the domination of the Japanese manufacturer in qualifying on Thursday.

In the premier Hypercar category, the two Toyotas will be followed by an Alpine and the two prototypes from the American team Glickenhaus.

It should be noted that the conditions are ideal for the time being, with a very light wind sufficient to refresh the ambient air (24 degrees) before the track heats up over the laps of the mythical 13.626 kilometer route.
