Tour de France and Covid-19: what risk of transmission in the heart of the peloton?

Although no proven transmission of Covid has been identified there to date, could the Tour de France peloton become a breeding ground for contamination?

Three participants in the Tour de France have thrown in the towel (two Saturday Geoffrey Bouchard and the Norwegian Vegard Stake Laengen, and Guillaume Martin this Sunday morning), after having tested positive.

Many more are likely to experience the same fate in the coming days, if they have been infected in the meantime.

This Sunday evening and Monday, rest day, everyone is supposed to go through the swab box, staff included.
