And it concerns one of the best French chances, the climber Guillaume Martin.

Contaminated, the Cofidis rider was informed of the verdict this Sunday morning before the start of the 9th stage between Aigle and Châtel les Portes du Soleil.

Martin had complained of a sore throat on Friday but his Covid test had come back negative.

He was 14th in the general classification, 3'01 behind Tadej Pogacar's yellow jersey.
