Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a farewell party for the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil in Damascus, Fabio Vaz Petaluca, on the occasion of the end of his duties as the country's ambassador to Syria, at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

Ambassador Petaluka expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian government and people, and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for their cooperation with him to complete his duties as ambassador of his country in Syria.

Ambassador Petaluka noted the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army in the face of terrorism, which threatens the whole world, expressing his hope for achieving more stability and prosperity in Syria.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Susan, affirmed the two countries' desire to consolidate cooperation between them, noting that Ambassador Petaluka was distinguished by his generosity and enthusiasm to serve the relations between the two countries and made a unique contribution within the framework of his work to advance cooperation between them towards broad horizons at all levels.

In a statement to reporters, Ambassador Petaluka indicated that he felt the great love that the Syrian people have for the Brazilian people, stressing that there is a great opportunity to expand and develop relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the cultural field.

The ceremony was attended by a number of heads and members of diplomatic missions in Damascus and directors of departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.
