The Syrian-Chinese Business Council held a farewell party this evening for the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Damascus, Feng Biao, on the occasion of the end of his duties as the country's ambassador to Syria, at the Yafour tourist resort in Damascus countryside.
In a speech during the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Susan, stressed that the Syrian-Chinese relations are historical, well-established and rooted, and are receiving the utmost care from the leaderships of the two countries, pointing to the remarkable contributions of Ambassador Biao in strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
Susan described Ambassador Biao as a loyal friend, lover and lover of Syria, especially that he shared with the Syrians the pain and suffering of the terrorist aggression against them, and spared no effort in conveying the truth of what is happening. The war and the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the enemies of Syria targeted its people during their life and livelihood.
And Susan indicated that the will of the Syrians and their adherence to preserving the dignity, sovereignty and independence of their homeland was stronger than all pressures and thwarted the conspiracy that targeted Syria, pointing out that the economic war represents one of the dirty methods of putting pressure on the Syrians.
For his part, Ambassador Biao expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian government, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Syrian-Chinese Business Council for their cooperation with him to complete his duties as ambassador to his country, reviewing the most important historical stations that strengthened relations between the two countries and laid the foundations for the present and the future and for participation in the reconstruction of Syria.
Ambassador Biao expressed his confidence that promoting peace and stability in Syria will contribute to accelerating the pace of reconstruction, increasing the level of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and achieving more positive results for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
Ambassador Biao referred to the encouragement he received from the Syrian people to make unremitting efforts to deepen the friendship between the two countries and push for the development of bilateral relations constantly, stressing that with joint efforts, Syria will rise again and achieve the desired prosperity.
In turn, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, referred to the intensive efforts made by Ambassador Biao to make the 12th session of the Syrian-Chinese Joint Committee for Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation a success, which was held at the end of last March, after a twelve-year hiatus, and its results were positively reflected in the framework of various aspects of joint cooperation relations. He indicated that China is Syria's first strategic partner in terms of production requirements, raw materials, ready-made products, and others.
For his part, Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, praised the humanitarian role played by Ambassador Biao in facilitating the arrival of Chinese aid to the Syrian people, whether medical in the face of the Corona pandemic or financial to establish, restore and rehabilitate a number of schools.
While the Chairman of the Syrian-Chinese Friendship Committee in the People's Assembly, Bilal Al-Naal, drew attention to the efforts of Ambassador Biao to develop relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, especially the parliamentarian and his great and distinguished role in revitalizing the work of the Friendship Committee in the Parliament during the performance of his duties as the country's ambassador to Syria.
In turn, Chairman of the Syrian-Chinese Business Council, Muhammad Hamsho, noted the great role of Ambassador Biao in developing relations between Syria and China in all fields, expressing appreciation for his efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges and push forward bilateral relations between the two countries.
At the end of the ceremony, the Chairman of the Syrian-Chinese Business Council and the Chairman of the Syrian-Chinese Friendship Committee in the People's Assembly awarded Ambassador Biao Dareen in honor of his efforts to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly Muhammad Akram Al-Ajlani, a number of ambassadors, heads and members of diplomatic missions in Damascus, a number of members of the People's Assembly, heads of federations, business councils and owners of commercial activities.
