Three days after the death of Elizabeth II, the Queen's daughter split in a highly symbolic gesture on Sunday September 11.

She was spotted, her eyes reddened, in a motorcade car carrying the queen's coffin.

Princess Anne, who was at the side of Elizabeth II during her last moments at Balmoral, was indeed appointed by the sovereign to accompany her remains during her journey between Scotland and England.

The coffin of the monarch, who died on Thursday September 8, was first moved from Balmoral Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh on Sunday September 11.

On this occasion, Princess Anne split with a highly symbolic gesture.

On the way to London

As the Queen's coffin, supported by pallbearers, prepared to enter the building, Elizabeth II's only daughter, who stood with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and her brother, Prince Andrew, bowed.

A strong act, which testifies to the respect of the princess for Her Majesty.

In the coming days, Anne from the UK will continue to monitor the coffin's delivery.

She will thus be present, this Monday, September 12, when the remains arrive at St Gilles Cathedral in Edinburgh.

She will accompany him thereafter, by plane, to London.

Before attending the Queen's funeral, which will take place on September 19.
