A man verbally attacked Prince Andrew during the Queen's coffin procession down the Royal Mile, Edinburgh's main thoroughfare, on Monday (September 12).
The Duke of York followed the coffin of his late mother Elizabeth II to St. Giles Cathedral in a procession solemnly led by King Charles III in front of thousands of Scots.
The procession, silent, was disturbed by the invective of a young man addressing the prince in a cry: "Andrew, you are an old pervert" ("Andrew, you're a sick old man", Ed) .

This 22-year-old Scottish protester was tackled to the ground by members of the crowd and then arrested by Scottish police for disturbing the public highway.
Then arrested, he exclaimed: “Disgusting!”, justifying himself to the police: “I did nothing wrong”.
The man, who goes by the name Rory, later told
Holyrood Magazine
: "Powerful men shouldn't be allowed to commit sex crimes and get away with it
. "
He risks a fine of 5,000 pounds sterling (nearly 5,800 euros) and one year in prison.

Prince Andrew was accused by American Virginia Giuffre of sexually assaulting her in 2001, when she was still a minor and under the influence of financier and sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
This case ended with a confidential financial agreement resulting in the abandonment of civil proceedings.

, Queen Elizabeth II would have helped her son pay the equivalent of 14 million euros to conclude this agreement.
The monarch later stripped him of his royal and military titles in January 2022. Andrew wore a simple costume during the procession, while his siblings wore military attire.
