An unmanned IDF aircraft crashed this evening (Wednesday) in the south of the country. The IDF stated that forces were dispatched to the scene in order to evacuate the vehicle.

It was also reported that there were no casualties in the incident, and that the incident will be investigated.

The commander of the Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar, assumed that the type of helicopter (remotely manned aircraft) that crashed would be grounded until the end of the investigation of the incident.

About four months ago, the military censors allowed it to be published that for more than 20 years the IDF has been using unmanned aircraft for operational activities.

This, after until now it was forbidden to publish in the Israeli media any mention of actions of this type.
