The unmanned IDF aircraft that crashed last night (Wednesday) in the south of the country is an armed Shuval type aircraft. After yesterday's crash, large IDF forces were sent to the scene to locate and remove its wreckage, which was feared to be found by criminal elements or hostile.

The "Shuval", also known as "Heron 1", is a product of the Aerospace Industry, and has been performing a variety of missions for the IDF and the intelligence community since 2005. According to foreign publications, in the last decade the IDF expanded its array of UAVs of this model, which were sold to more than 15 countries.
