Proposed regulation. Center-right fears the go-ahead for surrogacy (ANSA)

Clashes are expected in the Senate over the recognition of children's rights within the European Union - regardless of how they were conceived, whether born to parents of the same sex or adopted - in view of a European certificate of filiation.

The issue is at the center of a proposal for an EU regulation on parentage, being examined by the European Policies Commission of the Senate.

Tomorrow the last hearing, then the discussion.

The center-right is cautious but oriented towards opposition: if the regulation passes - this is their thesis - it would in fact authorize surrogacy, now prohibited in Italy.

On the other hand, Pd, 5S and Avs are in favour
