Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed into law the bill banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.
The Guardian reports it.
"We are proud to support life and family in the state of Florida," said the Republican governor.
The state senate passed the bill last night, supported by DeSantis as he prepares to launch his anticipated presidential bid.
The law provides exceptions to the ban on abortion after the sixth week of gestation, allowing it up to the 15th week for victims of rape, incest and human trafficking, provided the patient provides evidence, such as a police report .
