The alleged murderer of a 58-year-old woman has been taken into custody, the Castres prosecutor said. The woman died on Monday, June 26 after being shot with a weapon "small caliber" in Lavaur, Tarn.
The former nurse was found seriously injured around 9 a.m. on the doorstep of the home of a septuagenarian, in the historic center of the small town. The man is suspected of having shot him twice in the abdomen, told AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Castres Chérif Chabbi.

He was disarmed and arrested by municipal police, then placed in custody for "murder", according to the prosecutor's office. Hospitalized in Toulouse, the victim died a few hours later, said Chérif Chabbi in the early afternoon.
At this time, the links between the suspect and the victim are not known. According to the prefect of Tarn, she had to accompany him for cataract surgery. The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the gendarmerie company of Gaillac.
