An 84-year-old man has died and an 80-year-old woman has been seriously injured when her home caught fire, located on Ciudad Real Street in the Madrid municipality of Alcorcón, according to a spokesman for Emergencias 112 Comunidad de Madrid.
The event occurred about four o'clock in the morning and two crews of Alcorcón Firefighters have come. Upon arriving at the place, they found that the flames only affected one of the rooms of the house, while the smoke had spread through the rest of the home.
Summa 112 has attended to the couple who lived inside the affected house. The man was in cardiorespiratory arrest and the emergency services have performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for 45 minutes, but have finally confirmed his death.
In addition, they have treated the woman, who had burns on her face. After being intubated, she has been transferred with a serious prognosis to the hospital in Getafe, where she has been admitted.
The National Police and the Local Police are in charge of the investigations around what happened in this fire.
