A violent riot, attended by over 100 rioters, took place earlier today in the fence area in the Gaza Strip. A number of IEDs were thrown and a number of attempts to cross the barrier were identified, which were thwarted by IDF forces operating in the area.
In response, the forces responded with sniper fire and crowd control measures. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that seven Palestinians were injured to varying degrees in demonstrations near the fence.

Palestinian sources reported that during the incident, young Gazans approached the border fence in the Gaza Strip and managed to cut it. The IDF reportedly fired tear gas at the group gathered east of Gaza City.
