The father's hopes did not help – the bodies of his daughters were found: Hodia David and Tair David were murdered at a nature party last week. This was allowed to be published yesterday, after almost a week in which their fate was shrouded in uncertainty.

Hudia (27) and Tair (24) lived in Beit Dagan. Just last Monday, their father Uri moved an entire country when the king issued a statement by the families of the missing and captives revealing his fear of their fate. "Raped them?! Are they dumped in some ditch?!"

During the statement, he also recounted the harrowing moments immediately after they were kidnapped: "My two daughters were in contact with me yesterday morning, they were lying on the floor with an open phone under atomic pressure. I heard a duck range in the background, just a shooting range. There was shouting, I heard talking in Arabic. I told them to lie on the floor or face each other, to hold their breath. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes until I heard four breaths – and she hasn't answered me since.

"I ask that the whole world see what I say. I ask that the whole world see what I am going through. We must bring the children home – and as soon as possible. We need someone to give us answers. Maybe not all of them, but at least some. 48 hours and we didn't get a comma of information from the authorities. My two daughters are there, I close my eyes and don't know where they are. I'm afraid of what they're doing there in Gaza."
