An IDF soldier in the Fin unit, Corporal Kamei Achiel (18), was killed yesterday (Saturday) during operational activity in the maritime area in northern Israel, as a result of a technical malfunction in IDF weapons. An IDF soldier was critically wounded in the same incident and is anesthetized and on a ventilator.
Yesterday, after the mishap occurred, the fighters received initial medical treatment at the scene and were evacuated for further medical treatment at the Galilee Hospital in Nahariya. The IDF said the incident was being investigated.
