A day before she was due to celebrate her 77th birthday, actress Susan Summers ("Three in One Apartment," "Stepdad Stepmom") passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning at her home, overseas cultural websites reported.
Summers was an actress, singer, writer, businesswoman and fitness personality. "Susan Summers passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of October 15. She survived aggressive breast cancer for 23 years," longtime manager Robert Corey Hay said in a statement on behalf of the family.

"Susan was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce and her immediate family. The family gathered to mark her 77th birthday on October 16. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life and wish to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly." Hay said the family will hold a private burial service during the week and a memorial service will be held in November.
