One proposal submitted by Russia makes no mention of Hamas and its crimes. Another proposal was submitted by Brazil, the rotating president of the council, calling on Israel to implement a "humanitarian ceasefire" and opposing Israel's call on Gaza residents to evacuate their city.

Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, is working together with the American delegation to thwart the resolutions and prevent a vote on them at the upcoming council meeting. At this stage, no date has been set for the meeting.

At this stage, there does not appear to be an agreed wording among the members of the Security Council. Russia opposes any kind of condemnation of Hamas. On the other hand, Britain and France insist on such a condemnation and also reject Brazil's wording, which demands that Israel refrain from evacuating the Arab population. Brazil, which serves as the council's rotating president, has told the companies that they can submit amendments by 06 a.m. on Tuesday. It should be noted that at this stage the United States is trying to delay all the wording and any other decisions relating to the war.
