The residents of Kibbutz Nirim, who were evacuated to the city of Eilat, received a warm welcome today (Monday) from the kibbutz police officer, Superintendent Amit Levy, after fighting dozens of terrorists together with three members of the alert squad from the morning the war broke out, and then remained there to this day to take care of the animals and maintain the kibbutz.
Superintendent Amit Levy is a police officer serving in the Ashdod police, and on the morning the war broke out when he realized that terrorists were infiltrating, he equipped his son with a knife, locked his family in a dimension and went out with his friends to defend the kibbutz, where they fought a battle with dozens of terrorists, stopped the infiltration into homes and saved the lives of hundreds of kibbutz residents.
Today, after 10 days of remaining on the kibbutz to care for the animals left behind and performing a variety of tasks for the regular maintenance of the kibbutz, he finally arrived at a hotel in Eilat to meet his family, where all the kibbutz residents honored him as fighters.
