Highlights: The closure of the Qatari news channel is delayed, after it was supposed to be approved at a cabinet meeting. Despite claims by the Mossad and Shin Bet that the channel reveals the locations of IDF soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not raise the closure of Al Jazeera to the cabinet on Wednesday. It should be recalled that this is a Qatari channel, a state sponsoring terrorism but one that has made itself a legitimate "mediator" regarding the abductees. The delay may be related to the involvement of the Gulf state in the negotiations for the release of the hostages.

Despite claims by the Mossad and Shin Bet that the channel reveals the locations of IDF soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not raise the closure of Al Jazeera to the cabinet on Wednesday and the channel continues to operate from Israel. It should be recalled that this is a Qatari channel, a state sponsoring terrorism but one that has made itself a legitimate "mediator" regarding the abductees.

As noted, in light of the delay in approving the closure, the impression arises that the prime minister is not interested in closing the Qatari channel at this time. At the same time, the delay may be related to the involvement of the Gulf state in the negotiations for the release of the hostages.

Last week, after examining all the legal aspects related to the issue, along with the approval of all decision makers, the government approved the emergency regulations during wartime that will allow the cessation of the activity of a foreign broadcasting entity that harms state security for the duration of the war.

The closure of Al Jazeera in Israel comes after presenting evidence that it aids the enemy, broadcasts propaganda in the service of Hamas in Arabic and English to viewers around the world, and even transmits sensitive information.
