Former US President Donald Trump addressed the war raging between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization on Sunday night, saying he stands "100 percent with Israel."
Trump made the remarks at a gathering of the Republican Party's Jewish Coalition, a debt and influential organization within the conservative faction. "The United States will stand with Israel 100 percent, without hesitation, without conditions and without apology. We're not going to apologize," Trump said to applause from those in attendance.
Trump also referred to the attacks on U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq, saying, "For every drop of American blood spilled, we will spill a gallon of their blood." Trump repeated accusations against the Biden administration that he was allowing the world to slide into a "third world war."
The former US president was not the only one to speak at the conference. Nikki Haley, who has branded herself a hawkish candidate, attacked Trump and the isolationist approach in the United States, clarifying that "whoever today abandons Ukraine, tomorrow will abandon Israel."
The gathering also provided disturbing and bizarre moments when libertarian candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who has previously expressed opposition to continued U.S. aid to Israel, referred to the war in Gaza. "There is nothing I would like more than for the IDF to place the heads of the hundred most senior Hamas officials on skewers and place them on the Gaza border, as a sign that the October 7th massacre will never be repeated."
