The former soldier, murderer of little Maëlys, has already been convicted of sexual assaults committed in 2017 on two other little cousins.

Nordahl Lelandais, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of little Maëlys, will be tried on November 27 by the court of Charleville-Mézières for the sexual assault of one of his little cousins, then a minor, the prosecutor announced. Nordahl Lelandais was referred to the criminal court on November 27 at 13:30 p.m. "for facts dated March 16, 2017," said Magali Josse, public prosecutor in Charleville-Mézières, in a statement.

The former soldier has already been convicted of sexually assaulting two other little cousins in the same year. He will be tried for "sexual assault imposed on a minor under the age of 15" and "threatening or intimidating to persuade a victim not to file a complaint or to retract it," she said. Prosecuted as a repeat offender, "he faces a sentence of 20 years' imprisonment".

Life sentence

In February 2022, the Assize Court of Isère sentenced Nordahl Lelandais to life imprisonment with a 22-year security measure. The 8-year-old was on trial for the kidnapping and murder of 4-year-old Maëlys, as well as sexual assaults on two little cousins, aged 6 and 2017, during the same summer of 2021. He had already been sentenced in May 2017 in Chambéry to twenty years in prison for the murder of young corporal Arthur Noyer in April <>.
