A 34-year-old man has to show his passport on a train journey. The police quickly realize that the man has been wanted for eight months – for stealing jewels.
Waldmünchen – During a routine check by the Federal Police on a train on Tuesday, October 31, the officers caught a man who had been wanted for over eight months. This was announced by the Waldmünchen Inspectorate in the district of Cham on Wednesday, November 1. The 34-year-old was on a train from Prague to Bavaria. When the police checked his personal details, they found that the passenger was wanted for search. Actually, he was supposed to be in pre-trial detention.
Jewel thief caught by chance after eight months
As a result, the police arrested the 34-year-old. He is accused of stealing jewelry worth around 26,000 euros during a burglary at a jewelry store in February. He was taken by the officers to the Landshut district court, where he was brought before the magistrate. He is now in prison there.
