At the end of an investigation at the Mesovim station, a prosecutor's statement was filed against two suspects suspected of setting fire to vehicles in a garage in Yehud due to a financial dispute.
On 21 October 10, the Israel Police received a report of a vehicle fire in a garage on Ibn Gvirol Street in Yehud. Investigators from the Mesovim station opened an investigation while collecting findings and evidence. As part of the investigation, the investigators managed to trace the identity of the suspects and a few days later, two suspects were arrested and brought in for interrogation. At its conclusion, they were imprisoned and remanded in custody.
It is suspected that the two arrived at the garage in the evening, in a vehicle without a front license plate and with a fake rear license plate. The suspect next to the driver, poured liquid from a bottle and immediately lit it. That same day, around noon, the two suspects filled a bottle of gasoline at a gas station in Rishon LeZion. As a result, a large fire broke out, two vehicles were burned and the suspects fled the scene.
Yesterday, a prosecutor's statement was filed regarding the intention to indict the two suspects, on suspicion of extortion by threats, falsification of vehicle identification marks, conspiracy to commit a crime, willful arson of a motor vehicle and possession of drugs not for personal consumption. In addition, a request was filed to extend their detention.
