During the visit, Netanyahu expressed his sorrow over the horrific murder of their comrades in the Nahal Oz war room by Hamas, and praised them for their important and necessary work to maintain Israel's security.
Netanyahu then proceeded to a gathering area near the Gaza Strip, where he met with the 411th Artillery Battalion. Netanyahu spoke with a team in the gun gun and heard from them about the vehicle and its capabilities, and about the cooperation on the ground with the other forces. Later, he joined Kiddush and a Shabbat meal with the battalion's fighters.
Prime Minister Netanyahu to the battalion's fighters: "You are doing shell work, you are giving a curtain of fire to our forces. We don't stop until the mission is completed."

"The mission is divided into two: deterrence in the north, and some of you have been there; and a decision in the south. Decisive is the elimination of Hamas. We are not going back to the way it was - and with G-d's help and with your help, this is what will happen. Our fighters are there inside the territory, they are counting on you, the people of Israel are counting on you."
"I want to say to your parents, who will see you later: You sent the best there is. You guys are doing a fantastic job, just outstanding. I just want to thank you and tell you that we continue together until victory. May you have Shabbat Shalom."
