At the height of the war, the Foreign Ministry ran out of money for information. This is what one of the ministry's senior officials told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday.
In an open discussion before the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Emmanuel Nachshon, Senior Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry for Public Diplomacy at the Foreign Ministry, announced that the ministry had decided to shut down the PR activity due to the department's lack of funding.
MK Dan Illouz, who has been active in the field of public relations since the beginning of the war, attacked in response: "We are at war on many fronts, and also on the PR front, a front that allows us to receive global support for the continuation of the fighting. It is inconceivable that during the war one of our tools on this front is disabled. I demand that the Finance Ministry work together with the Foreign Ministry immediately in order to bring the necessary resources so that we will win on the PR front."
Because due to increased propaganda activity during the war, which includes daily preparation of products at high rates, as well as the activity of most Israeli missions many hours beyond the usual activity, a very large budget gap was created.
